EGG allergy? Intolerance? high cholesterol? -try this! 

I used to eat eggs at least 2-3 times a week for years but suddenly I became highly allergic to them. So I had a blood test which told me I had an allergy to egg whites and yolk.

Well, there goes half the food of a paleo/atkins diet…

Anyway so I cut out eggs and I continued making recipes without egg and using store bought egg replacers but the bind and taste and textures were not the same.


So now I use the below concoction: which I find to be sufficient enough for an egg replacer in recipes (but don’t go scrambling it)

What to do: 

  • Dried chia seeds (tablespoon) 
  • Add into a blender and grind or use a pestle and mortar
  • Add the ground chia seeds to a cup of drinking water 
  • Wait 30 minutes (it will become gooey)
  • Use as you wish 

Benefits of chia: 

  • Energy booster 
  • Helps with sleep 
  • Good for your heart 
  • Anti-aging 
  • Helps with digestion 
  • Controls weight 
  • Lowers cholesterol 
  • Balances blood sugar 
  • Helps with inflammation 

You can also do the same thing with flax seeds
