Wakame and garlic prawn pasta (GF) 

This is a simple yet delicious twist on spaghetti Aglio E Olio.

What you need 

  • Fresh prawns
  • Gluten free pasta (I used brown rice and wakame)
  • Raw garlic
  • Good quality olive oil
  • Coconut butter
  • Salt and cracked pepper
  • Dried oregano & paprika
  • Fresh coriander (topping)
  • Nutritional yeast flakes (topping)

What is Wakame? 

Simple enough it’s a type of seaweed or kelp used in Asian cuisines. It’s high in iron, magnesium, calcium, iodine, folate, vitamins A,B2,C,D,E,K 

 

What to do: 

  • Cook your pasta in boiling salted and oiled water for 8 minutes
  • Drain and rinse
  • Wash your prawns, butterfly and de-vein them
  • Fry the garlic in olive oil and coconut butter add in the prawns, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano
  • Once browned add in the pasta and cook for a further 2 minutes – add olive oil if its dry
  • Wash and roughly chop the coriander and top on to the pasta with nutritional yeast
